Nursing gives me the opportunity to reach people from many different places, ethnic groups and backgrounds... At times I
am their voice or a shoulder
to cry on.

I view the Hispanic Nursing Project as the most rewarding program offered. It provides support, motivation, and opportunities that will benefit you later in your nursing practice.

I chose Carroll College because the smaller campus size gave me the opportunity for a more personal learning environment.

I am grateful for the academic and other support programs of the Hispanic Nursing Project. It made the more difficult courses more manageable.

Not only is there a nationwide shortage of nurses overall, but there is a particular need for nurses to serve the Hispanic/Latino population. Hispanics are the largest minority group in the United States.

Carroll College’s Hispanic Nursing Project (HNP) is an academic support program funded, in part, through a Nursing Workforce Diversity Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The college received its first grant in 2004 and received a three-year continuation grant in 2007.
